Whats up fellas!! I'm new to this board. Anyways i purchased an 88 GT 5 speed a couple of weeks ago. The engine is pretty much shot but the body and chasis is in really good shape and never been hit and no rust. I dropped off my daily driving car to my mechanic to get the brakes done. So he has an 86 gt that he just dropped a rebuilt 5.0 engine, rebuilt Tranny, short shifter and also a new H- pipe and 2 1/2 in. Flowmaster exhaust. The shell of the stang he dropped all this into is rusted out and he is using the car for daily driving to and from work. He just wants to get a new car for himself and he is willing to sell me the Engine, Tranny, and short shifter, H - pipe and Flowmaster exhaust for $2100. This includes labor to swap all this into my 88. Now i dont think the engine has mass air(being that my 88 is speed density) and i will need a mass air kit in order to make any future modifications to the engine right?? In the near future i want to make some mods to the engine to get some 340 HP. Also will i need a wiring harness for my 88 GT?? I am learning as i go along fellas so please bare with me and any responses will be well appreciated!!!
Thanks Gpit:SNSign:

If you have $2100... DO IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! That's a steal for everything plus labor. If you have plans of mods down the road, converting to mass air wouldn't be a bad idea either, but I'm sure it could be done without, if you got a custom dyno tune. You wouldn't need a new wiring harness to do the conversion, but a conversion harness is likely included in a kit.

Well the engine has about 10K miles as well as the tranny.

I say do it, if the engine has any other mods (i.e. cam, ort work on the heads or intake) then that is just icing on the cake.
