5.0 t-5 internal parts into 4 cylinder t-5 case

My buddy just got his t-5 rebuilt but he dropped it off the tail gate of his truck and cracked the case I have a 4 cylinder t-5 laying around with a bad 3rd gear. So the question is can the internals from the 5.0 t-5 be swapped to the 4 cylinder t-5 case?

Thats what I thought, but better to ask than get half way through the job to find out it won't work.

Hanlon has a tape for about the same price - it's worth 2-3x what you pay for it if your going to be fixing T5s.

A guy I know has a notchback and his T-5 broke on him so he hooked up a 4 cylinder T-5 to the bellhousing. We have been trying to break that transmission for over a year now and it will just not break.

I'm on my second 4 popper t-5 (wish I could afford somthing better ) going on 5 years. I even have some 4500 lanches on slicks through it. Of corse I not making gobs of power. The only thing I don't like is the first gear it's about useless on the street with 3.73's, but on slicks what a ride.

Yup, same case.

I'm pretty familiar with the t-5 rebuilding process. I have it all memorized. Pretty easy trans do rebuild.
