If you can get a smokin deal on it, I would still pick it up. The block is still tapped for roller. and if you get another stang that has a bad engine, you can swap it for a "in the mean time" type of thing...

I used a 87' Vic motor in a Ranger swap once, it had a roller cam (non-HO) and the intake manifold is reversed. Buddy of mine had just done a H/C/I on his Fox and gave me the old E7's,cam and intake so I used them on the vic short block. Just cant go any bigger with the cam though because the pistons are not notched.
