does 5.0 run hotter then the DOHC 4.6? My friend has a 96 cobra and he says his temperature guage stays right in the middle, the 95 Cobra we test drove went a tiny bit past the middle. Is this normal? its a 95 with 80k on the engine completely stock

The stock gauges suck on our cars so it hard to really tell the exact temp. From what I can remember the 96-98 cobras has a tsb on them because they has a serious problem running hot, but ford fixed that. But you can cure any temp problems with a better rad, and tstat.

my gauge barley hits the O in normal unless im beating it...but thats not the norm for our cars....many seem to run hot in the real hot states, like Arizona....but not mine...i doubt they run any hotter than the dual cam Cobras....

i don't think my car ever even reaches the "o", oh well i don't think it's a problem...i guess we could consider ourselves lucky. i also don't think i live in a particularly hot state (NC) although it's pretty nasty out there right now at 93..yuck
