My friend and I were thinking of future options for his 99 GT. I noticed Ford Racing is now selling the lightning motor with the supercharger included. Has anyone ever attempted or herd of a 4.6 the 5.4 swap? FordRacing.com doesn't provide that much information yet.
its possible, it's been done, theres alot of clearance issues though, with the deck high, and the top of the s/c being so tall, it's a hard fit, and if im not mistaken, you may have other clearance issues like brake booster/clutch master.. and you'll have some exhaust issues as well..but if all you can get is the engine, its not even close to being worth it..
personally, i wouldnt get it, there are more affordable swaps, 03 cobra not being one of them, i would probably look for a navigator 5.4 dohc swap, or a 99/01 cobra swap, because usually you can find them in drivetrain packages ie: engine, tranny, ecu, headers, h-pipe, wire harness and driveshaft for pretty reasonable prices
and since your in a v6, you're going to want to look into a brake, rearend, and some suspension upgrades as well when you throw that weight in there
