Sorry everyone in advance this might get a little long...LOL.
We have done a couple now. My wife actually has the swap done in her 1996 GT....(We use it for a shop car now..LOL). We are making 559RWHP and 667RWTQ with our setup With an safe tune. We utilized the stock 96 GT wiring harness and Computer. We also got a custom cog system on it aswell. The car is a absolute blast to drive around in. We got invited to the King of the street contest this year with the car as well. But getting back to the subject. The swap it self (for use now) is stairght forward. There is a couple of little things that you will need to get...Like the Heat exchanger, Custom Brackets made for the Heat Exchanger, Intercooler Water Pump, Fab up brakets for the Coil packs. I recomend using a tublar K-member (dont have to do that...the motor will fit down on the stock K-member)...But the reason why I recomend it is because you will be taking away a little bit of the added wait that the motor will bring. You also will have to make an new raditor hose (not a big deal..ours is a Metal tube). (We have a kit together now for this swap, that comes with everything that you will need to do the swap if you wanted to attempt it your self, or if we did the swap). Just like Bill and Stang97 said the motor setup with the blower is tall. You will need to get an Cowl hood. Now how tall of a head comes down to what you actually want to do. Do you want a little bit of the motor sticking out? If so we have a couple of option's for you. You can Get an 3-4" Cowl Hood....Cobra RR, etc... and the motor will stick out just a little bit. On all of the cars that we have done now we have used an 3.5" Hood and cut a hole around the supercharger and Intake pipe. The motor just bearly peacks out. Not as bad as you would think. Now another thing that we can do to help some of the hood clearnce issue's is: We can Make new motor mount perchs off the tublar k-member, drop the motor down an 1" or so and that will help tuck the motor down more in the engine bay. We havent done that setup yet on a customers car with out cutting the hood out...cause usually everyone wants the blower to stick out a liittle when they see one in person. LOL. SO Im not sure if it will clear an 4" or not. Im pretty sure the back side of the supercharger might..but The snout and pulley of the supercharger probably wont. Meaning that we would have to cut a little portion of the hood out for the snout to clear the hood. I think if you were really wanting to do the swap you will absolutley love it. Here later on today I will try to get some pics up. Or if you do a search on Toxic5.4 that is my wife......She also has a cardomain page aswell. Can't remember what it is though......But just do a search on her and you can find a little bit of pics. If you have any questions or need anything feel free to call us anytime or Pm or email. Hope this was a little helpful for you. O'yeah. We also run SHorty headers, and we make our own Xpipe setup. But you can reuse your stock, or aftermarket one. It just needs to be modified a little bit. Let us know if you have any questions. You will love the setup and the instant Torque from the setup. LOL.. Good luck
