i was on jegs and want to order theweld racing magnum 2.0 drag wheels in gold and the only backspacing is a 5 for a 15x10.. will it fit on a stock length axle without sticking out from under the car with a 275/60?

I have 5" back space and they do stick out a little. I think the next set of wheels I buy will have 6" back space.

6" and you may need a spacer. 6.5" backspace on a 15x10 is ideal

Why would you "space" a 6" wheel 1/2" if 6.5" B/S is ideal?

That would make a 6" wheel actually 5.5" B/S.

I agree that 6.5 is ideal, if you are looking to get as much wheel/tire underneath the car.
On the other hand if you get them 7" (which will crash into all kinds of stuff inside the wheel tubs) but add a 1/2" spacer............6.5!!!

Hard to say, it depends on how much the inner fender as been beat. Might be able to get away with 1/4'' spacer. If not, the 1/2'' should clear it no problem at all

On my car i run a 15x10 with a 6.5'' BS but the rear was narrowed .250 per side when i had the 9" ends done. The 275/60's tuck really nice even with just 1/4" off each side, but every car is different. FWIW, when i have my 28x10.5 stiff walls on the car, i have to run a spacer to keep them out of the tailpipes.

I've been told my wheeltubs could be beat more. The tires fit and i will never have a bigger tire on the car so i dont have any reason to do it though, and what is limiting me is where the spring is.

Actually, you are 6.75 B/S w/ your rear end narrowing.

I think that you are right about the variation between cars. I think that 7" and space accordingly will put the wheel exactly where you want it.

Mine are 7.2" w/o any spacers, and they were all over the inner tubs/control arms/springs. That is why I mini tubbed the car and put coilovers on it.

Now you can go back to bed

qso my best chance is going wit a 6" back spacing with no spacer and rolling the fenders and have it stick out a tad bit?

or

7" with a 1/2 inch spacer.. ..?

willl both of these clear the coilovers.. in the stock shock location..?

While I kept the stock lower mounting points, I have my coilover upper mount points moved inboard along w/ the wheel tub. So unfortunately, you'll have to consult somebody else on the interference issues between them if you go as far inboard as you can.

Again, my wheels are 7.2" B/S w/o any spacers.

What tha.....how old is this picture?.....Are those Fox tailights on my car?
I think I threw those things away.

They don't stick out even a "tad bit"

I couldn't see to take this, I just stuck the camera up and pressed the button. So don't bitch about the blurry pic.

7" w/ 1/2" spacer if your wheel choice is limited to wheels on whole inch B/S. that will end up @ 6.5" B/S. Tailpipes might be a problem though
