Just finished up my SN95 5 lug conversion, I used 95 spindles with 2000 model PBR calipers and brackets and 2001 Chrome SVT Cobra R wheels. When I brake I get a clunking/knocking noise coming from the driver front, the noise slows as the car slows down. The passenger side did this for a fe min but it quit. I can feel it slightly too. Any suggestions? I rechecked it all and everything is tight.

clunking

You need to Double check your brake calipers......
1. make sure they are seated tite....piston fully extented against the
brake pads...
2. then check ur calipers make sure they are not loose....meaning the bolts
are tite....

getting close to finishing a job up we get in a hurry..... let us know how
it came out

Well, i have done everything to the front driver side i know to do, the pads are seated good, the caliper bracket bolts are tight, the caliper bolts are tight, the tie rod ends are tight, the strut is tight! Could there be some possibility that i may have warped a rotor while trying to set up my adj porp valve?? When i started this process the front brakes were doing most of the stopping, could a warped rotor cause this type of noise without any vibration in the steering??

Yeap, they are sealed, I messed with it again tonight, double checked everything, only thing it could be is a warped rotor that may have gotten too hot while i was setting up the porp valve, I have noticed it doenst make the noise right off, only after i make 2 or 3 stops, thats probably why the rotor does it after it gets hot is my thinking.

i got the rotors used and had them turned before i put em on the car, i'm gonna take it to a garage and have em checked real good, plus the rear pads need replaced so i will have them turned too that way i will have a fresh setup on all 4 corners.

I'll keep ya posted

yeah sounds like the newly turned rotors are either really grippy with the pads... this happened to me in my 94 after i changed the brakes... i redid them with cheapo raybestos brand and it worked fine... just depends i guess... could also be the endlinks... or suspension... i know it doesnt have anything to do with the brakes.. .but sometimes things happen... check it out... you may be surprised what you find....
