5 lug conversion dont know what to do

I just bought these 2000 GT rims and i was going to get the latemodel restoration conversion kit but i found out that they will not fit, they said that if i were to get the kit i would have to put a spacer in the front so the center cap will go on.

Is there any other way to go thats pretty cheap?

If i were to get the kit would the spacer make the wheel and tire stick out in the front?

You would need a pretty larger spacer.


Another option that someone did with those wheels is to drill out about a 1.5" circle in the center cap of the front wheels so the spindle hub can poke through.

If you really want to see what needs to be done firsthand, go to your local parts store and buy a Mark 7 front rotor. Take your spindle dust cap off, tap it onto the rotor and bolt it to the wheel.

Then clean up the rotor when you are done and return it

you only need a .25" spacer for bullitts but the other GT 5spoke ones i am not certain

if you decide to run a spacer make sure the studs are long enough so the lug nut has at least 3 threads sticking out of the top.
