I just went home on leave and bought a black '93 GT and I just bought a set of 17x9 black 2003 Cobra rims so now I have to go 5 lug. First I dont know if the rear disc is worth the time b/c im not going to buy the Ford Racing kit. So if I start buying all the parts I need for the rear brake conversion, exactly what would I need? Up front I know I need '94-'95 spindles and hubs but the rear is what I am lost on. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also what is the widest tire I can put on the car front and rear?

If you want to keep the drums in the rear you can get axles from a ranger or an aerostar. You need 2 from either vehicle b/c one side is longer than the other b/c the pumpkin is offset. someone on here will be able to tell you years and which side from which vehicle. You should also be able to pull the drums off of the ranger. Just make sure you get the correct size as I believe they have some that are 10". then you are setup for the rear. I hope I didn't miss anything but someone else will chime in with more info. This is just the basics, but pretty simple for the rear.

I am going a different route and I already got axles from a 97 mustang as well as the disc brakes from a similar year mustang. Axles stick the tire out a little bit more but I plan on running a 275/40 rear tire (or a 255).

Agree and its the passenger side from an Aerostar. I would get new drums. They are only like $20 each and get a drum brake spring kit, axle seals, axle bearings along with some new shoes of course. http://www.stangnet.com/tech/lug.html and http://mjbobbitt.home.comcast.net/mustang/5lug.html

I just did this same conversion on my 86 with the FMS axles and ranger drums and I am running a 275/40 on the rear and 245/45 on the front with no issues. I do rub on the inner fender a little bit but that isn't anything that rack limiters won't solve. I did remove the quad shocks from the rear, but probably didn't need to. I believe I read here somewhere that some people just flip them around for more clearance.

Just a note on your front swap you will also need calipers, rotors. You can use the 93 brake hoses but will need the sn95 banjo bolts.
