5 Lug Conversion Problems

I have a 5 lug conversion on my 88 gt 17x9 factory ford bullitt rims with 245 45 17 tires. the rims are getting destroyed on the control arm!!!??? anyone else with this prob? any suggestions on 17x8 rims?

Factory Bullitts are 17x8 as stated.

If yours are 17x9 then you have aftermarkets and the offset and BS specs could be incorrect for your setup. There were a few different options available in terms of offset and BS with the aftermarket wheels.

Photos would help describe the problem here better. Rack limiters are a solution
 
Steering rack limiters, AKA, Steering rack spacer washer
The part number is N804842-S washer. They come in a package of 4.
 
Yeah you will need limiters. My car does this also of you crank to the stops (running 17X8 bullitts as well). I just don't crank it all the way and it is fine for me.
