I have a 91 notch, and plan on a suspenion upgrage on it soon, also wheels. I have seen a mix of cars here and there some with the conversion some without...I have wheels picked out in the 4 lug and 5 lug so that is a non issue. I run 4:10s and plan on adding 8-12psi in the near future and if i'm going to change the rear axles to handle such power I don't want to replace them twice...any thoughts?

well, with a 5 lug conversion may come bigger brakes, if you go that route, and that means better stopping power. thats not a bad idea if youre going to add boost and want to eventually harness it when you want to stop. ive done it (13" fronts and 11.65" rears) with a mostly stock car and let me say the brakes are amazing. thats my thought.

Only you can answer that question, really. Personally, I'll never own another 4 lug Mustang. 5 lug brakes are nicer for cheaper, there are tons more options in 5 lug wheels, and there is no mainstream 4 lug wheel that isn't also available in 5 lug (except for maybe the 93 Cobra).

That said, if you have your eye on a 4 lug wheel, and the sloppy, under performing stock Fox brakes are enough for you, by all means, stay 4 lug, haha.

thanks for responses, I WILL do the conversion when i do all my suspension work...with that said is there a good kit that is painless (keeps wheels in factory location, etc) and an upgrade to the rear axle (better spline over stock)

If i would have researched more about the 5 lug conversion... i wouldn't have done it... IMO i should have save the money and invested in 03' 4 lug Cobras

Insanity..

Everybody is always worried about who's car is faster. Most people disregard braking upgrades, especially the under budgeted. Always do brakes before engine performance. It pays off when you need to stop your crown jewel for that dear or car or whatever it may be that crosses your path. Only fools do otherwise.

Simple facts.
