I know there are a few of these threads around over the years...but it's 2010, and there are way more cars out there with large spares that will clear our brakes.

So, i know a lot of oyu guys have cobra brakes. WHat do you use for Spare tires?

I just test fit my 15" 5-lug spare and found out it will not fit my rear cobra brakes. The caliper hits the welded spokes. So i need at least a 16" spare..but i'd prefer a 17" spare so i don't have to tire shuffle.

So have you guys taken spares from anything else out there and found them to work? 05+ Mustang??

I just aquired a 17" alum. solid center space saver from a lincoln. I haven't test fit it yet, but it looks like it should work.

I picked up two 17" Cobra spares from craigslist and e-bay.They aren't cheap but you need one if you have 13" front rotors.

The Cobra spares are the way to go..but there are just more vehicles out there today that have 5-lug spares that possibly could work because the brakes are coming bigger and bigger these days

How about the Ford taurus spares? I beleive they are 17"..as well as 05+ Mustang spares

Could just look on tire rack.

A lot of foreign cars come with the same BP as well.

99-04 Mustangs come with 16" mini spares. I'd try a 16" over the rear. Even though it still won't fit over the front, it's better to have something than nothing.

How many ppl think of this.....If you have Cobra R's, 03-04 Replica wheels, or the Saleen SC's. Do you carry a skinny 3/8" socket and rachet in your car??????? Because the factory lug wrench nor 1/2" impact sockets do not fit inside the lug holes of those wheels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use a 94-04 Cobra spare. They aren't cheap, but you know they fit so there is no guesswork involved.

Nothing for me, I wouldn't be able to jack it up on the side of the road to do anything about it anyway! AAA all the way

I'd do exactly this except i'm going to run different size tires F&R, so i need something that will work with both.

For now, i have a full-size bullitt wheel in my hatch. Was thinking of just trimming the carpet around it and having it poke up through it since it is a 9 out of 10 rim. But it's too heavy.

I'll pony up for the cobra spare unless someone car say for 100% that an 05+ spare or something else will fit over 13" cobra brakes
