5 lug swap parts gathering ensues

so today i started gathering parts for a 5 lug swap... i'll be using 98 axles, and breeze automotive 4/5lug rear rotors with my 88 tc rear end, and then 94-95 spindles if i can find them.... nothing fancy.

i didn't plan on starting to gather parts, but i found a set of axles for 30 bucks.

What rim are you going to be running on the rear? Those axles are 3/4 inch longer then stock as i'm sure your aware.

dunno yet.. i'm already 3/4" wider in the rear with the Turbo coupe rear end, the axles are the same length as what i currently have, so i just put in the new axles, and 5 lug pattern rotors and whala... rear 5 lug.

i want to run 03 cobra's or bullitt's.. but we'll see...
just depends on how good of a deal comes along... maybe these?

thats pretty good of a price. i got the stuff from a junkyard so i got my stuff pretty cheap but 150 for all thats good.

I'm going to look at them today, they are 95 spindles/hubs/rotors/calipers/lines.

i picked up my axles last night.. hopefully the front stuff looks good today.

will post pics later this afternoon... i'm hoping i am not overpaying for the fronts.

Unless you plan on sticking with SN95 17x8 wheels, or adding ABS, i'd recommend using the North Race Car brackets and running some Fox offset axles.

Reason being it will make wheel selection MUCH easier and you can run 9" or 10" wide wheels out back.

I have the SN95 lenght axles because I'm adding ABS, and picking wheels it tough. I think i'm going to have to get my SN95 wheels widened on the rear to 9.5" to the inside because it's tougher than i thought to get wheels to fit the way I want.

Another thing you can do is SN95 9" wheels up front and S197 9" wheels out back...but hard to find matchning sets.

All i suggest is think carefully what wheels you want to run first before installing your stuff. If you want a 9" or 10" wheel out back, then you should go fox lenght axle

Last i checked, it was under $200 per wheel to widen? I think....was 6 months ago when i asked for a quote. It was expensive though i remember that, but it would let me do what i want to do.

I might be picking up a set of the 03/04 GT wheels that are chrome versions of the 99 cobra wheels. I think they would look sharp, but i need fat rubber out back. 9.5" with 295's might be perfect

sweet, cause ive been through allot finding matching bulletts, and id like to get a 9 inch one or so, as i plan on using the nrc brackets in my floor when i do my 4 wheel disc swap.

i picked them up today...
here's a camera phone quality pic of the axles and fronts.

so now just down to the breeze automotive rear rotors and i'm set for parts.

i'm looking for either 16 or 17 x8 rims... i have a new set of four 245/50/16's that i'd like to move from the current cobra r's to the new rims so 16 is preferred... but maybe i'll sell the rims/tires and get new set of 17s..... we'll just have to see.

any one have any thoughts or suggestions on rims?

i wouldnt mess around with 16s, but you can find some good prices on oem mustang wheels like 35 aniv. wheels, bullitt wheels, ect.

I suggest searching your local Mustang forums and craigslist for wheels. You should be able to find some oem take offs for a good price. They are all over and cheap. Benefits over buying online, local pick up, cheaper, and its oem vs after market wheels.

But it's hit or miss on condition.

Finding MINT wheels on CL is near impossible. I've been looking for a month for wheels for my G35 and what people call mint...i would use for a spare tire.

I'd rather go new sometimes. New, virgin wheels are nice

also if im not mistaken you will need a fitting for the pass side front brake line to get it to "bolt" on. im getting ready to do the exact same set up but with stock length axles and 18" bullitt wheels. if i find which fitting it is ill post it up. (thats why i was on here,lol)

Just go to NAPA and ask for a Weatherhead 7828 fitting. That's what LRS is selling...and you don't need to pay $15 to ship it to you either
