500+ RWHP 95 GT

Just PM RIck_91gt and have him build it for you. And he's in high demand so nail him down on a solid e.t.a. date. He built mine and this car freaking ROMPS and I am not even touching what its capable of.

with that said a 331 with a nice h/c/i and some boost from a turbo/supercharger work wonders without the minor headaches of a windsor.

a 347 with afr 185/205 or victor jr heads with a heavy douse of the gigglee juice would be a hell of a DD

the reason i didnt go that route is i always thought a mesican 302 was very hard to find. i kinda wish i had went with just a h/c/i on my stock 302 and sprayed it on top of that instead, but i wanted more power for the future and once i can get my hands on some money i believe the 351w will be worth it with the extra torque

Turbo, you'll be over 500rwhp on a small amount of boost, turbo is way easier on the motor. As for reliablility, my kit has been on for 5 years with 30k road miles on the car, no problem, and I still have 10#'s of boost left. Lets see my set up made 25rwhp./lb. of boost so that would figure to about....

That 60mm you have in my opinion is way too small for your 331 unless you have twin 60's?, even if you upped the PSI, I wouldn't see you gaining that much more power if any. Your pretty much at the limit of that Turbo. 60mm Turbo's are rated to support around 550 BHP +/- depending on who makes it, with what housing and A/R's. As far as HP kits go..orz..... I'll let everyone do the research.

I have a question on the mexican block. Since its not a roller block you would have to run the crane mucho expensive retro roller lifters. What then becomes the cost of a mexican block with these lifters? I'm curious how much cheaper it is than a dart sportman block like I had built. I think those lifters in themselves are around $500 new. I had under $2K in my dart sportsman block delivered to my house. I then had Rick at RNH assemble it for me, his work is top notch. I have yet to put my turbo on but I'm already at 380+rwhp NA with my 8.89:1 compression 331, so I expect big things from my T76 when it goes on. 25rwhp/lb of boost would be FANTASTIC!

Your absolutely right…and it’s something I’ve often thought about myself. I believe you can pick up linked lifters for a relatively low cost now (~$200-$300)…and they are not a bad idea to run regardless…as they are better than the stockers. With that said however, the cleaning & machining involved in prepping a Mexican block is not going to be cheap. When all is said and done, I would much rather spend the extra money on a nearly bulletproof 4 bolt main block than a 2 bolt block that “might” support upwards of 650hp at the wheels.

If you run a hydralic roller you will need the $450+ lifters.
If you run a Solid roller which will get you the best lifters out there, atleast light years better than hyd. lifters they will set you back $350
Mexican blocks usually go for $200-350 or so.
For what I got into my Mexican shortblock I couldn't even purchase a good rotating assembly.

I believe these are the lifters I had in mind. Crower 66335-16 - Crower Hydraulic Roller Lifters - summitracing.com

I'm not sure of the quality, but if they work...they are a helluva lot cheaper!

Thanks Rob! I always wondered but never thought to ask you about it.

those lifters dont come with link bars. is there a cheap way to get link bars(junyard) that would work reliably and wat about solid lifters is there any special percaution to using them and are would the be okay to use on a street car.
