OK.... this summer im picking up a new DD.. Currently i have a 1992 Heep Cherokee. I was looking into other used SUV's.. Like Heep Grand Cherokee's (00-04) and newer explorers, (02+ and 2door sports as well) when i got to thinking. I still dont have a family, i am getting engauged soon, but probably wont be married or have a house for at least 2 years. i was considering a 96+ 4.6 stang as my DD.. auto, manual i dont care. i also know that 96-98 have the non-PI heads. Again i dont care, its a DD so ill prolly throw on some catback exhaust and call it a day. BUT my area gets snow in the winter occasionally. Not to much usually. Have you guys used snow chains on your stangs and do they work? cause if they dont work at all, this is usless and ill stick to my SUV search for a DD.

My Cobra is my daily driver. When it snows, I don't go out though. If you get some snow tires and put some weight in the trunk, you will be able to get around, although much slower. Nothing beats 4wd though.

I drive a '98 Cherokee Sport and to be honest, once it blows up i might just buy another one! It's been the most reliable vehicle i've ever owned. In the 5 years i've had it all i've ever replaced is the alternator, and i found later that it was a bad wire anyways. It's even on the factory '98 battery.

oh as for snow, i've driven through about 10 inches with no problems at all, on half bald radials. I've also had it buried to the frame in mud and it just keeps going. I had 29'' Interco Super Swampers on it last year and that thing would drive through ANYTHING.

Yeah i'd have to get a hard top for the winter and for most of the time, and then on occasion throw on the soft top so i can go topless I have a son so i've gotta have something 4 door, so i've never had any interest in a Wrangler as my DD untill now.

In reality, i'll probably drive my Cherokee until it falls apart around me...lol. I bought it used and it gets paid off this April, and once that's done it's getting a lift and some fatties

Yeah that's my other choice, i really want a 5.0 Explorer too. I've got a friend with one and he's got AFR heads, Trick Flow intake and pretty much any 'stang part you can throw on an Explorer, plus a 75 shot of nitrous! It's pretty badass and that's his DD!

DAMN i wouldnt go THAT insane on one! haha i had an 01 sport with a 4.0 SOHC engine. It was really sweet. i ended up totallying it. Id get another one cause it was so nice. But i do like the 4door 5.0's and the newer (02+) 4.6's they sould last a while? id really like an 02 4.6l 4 door, but i think it will break the bank. oh well so no DD 4.6 stang in the snow huh? dammit! haha

No he posted it, i'm not sure who videoed it. I don't know if i'd want to do a street style Explorer or just beef it up and put a small lift on it, like just a 4 inch lift and then some nice fat knobby tires on it. I'd probably have to go with the lift since i've got the 'stang for street fun.
