6 cyl springs on a V-8 66

I'm trying to get my suspension sorted out for drag racing. I installed my new Rancho adjustable shocks in the rear as recommended and I just recieved my 6 cyl springs for the front.

My question is has anyone on here done this to there 65-66 and what did the ride height end up looking like with the 6 cyl coil springs? If I don't like it I assume that I can cut these down just like the 620's I have on the car right now? If I do i know I will be somewhat defeating the whole light spring weight transfer purpose but I know they will still be much better than the 620's.

Also how bad is thing going to ride on the street?

with the stock six cylinder spring rate the ride on the street will be softer than with the stock V8 spring rate, though not too much softer. also since the six cylinder springs are lighter than the V8 spring, the front end will sit a bit lower than the stock ride height. if however it doesnt sit low enough for you, you can cut the spring like you would any other spring. be conservative when you cut the spring though, say 1/4-1/2 a coil at a time. you cant add coils to a spring.

Yeah the ride height will be lower in front then v8 springs, and the front end should be more willing to "lift" due to the springs being more compressed. (compressed spring=wants to expand). What shocks are you throwing on it?

Summit sells their own brand adjustable shocks for the front for like $28.00 each. They are adjustable to the same ratio as the one you showed. I just bought a pair.

I'll check it out, I just want something with the three adjustable ratio's. i don't care what brand, cheaper the better.
