I need 60 ft help. I have a 1989 5 speed GT. It has a trick flow intake manifold, 70 mm throttle body and egr spacer, 73 mm mass air sensor, cold air intake, k and n filter, 24 lb injectors, regulator, 255 lph fuel pump, headers, h pipe, flowmasters, f 303 cam, fresh rebuild, flex fan, msd 6al box, cap, rotor, wires and coil, 3.55 gears, mega bit jr lowers, frame connectors, upper and lower front strut bars, zoom clutch, tri axel shifter, Im running mcreary bias ply tires at the track. I best I ran was the wednesday night it was a 13.9 with a 2.1 60 ft, help. Could the f 303 cam not be coming alive soon enough, they say it is a blower cam. Any help would be great. It feels like it is hooking up.

A 2.1 60ft with street tires is not that bad. But it sounds like your spinning off the line.A set of DR's or slicks will solve your problems.. I run Nitto DR's and run 1.8 60ft's.With your mods 1.7 should be a piece of cake with traction. And if you get your 60ft's down to 1.7 or lower you will be knocking on high 12's door in the 1/4

no, mcreary bias ply tires not street tires, they are as good as bfg's and nittos for about $50 dollars cheaper each.

heads? that cam is to big for stock heads. your losing your torque down low. as far as suspension tuning and info, here's all you need to know. www.baselinesuspensions.com

p.s. i cut my 1.69 60ft's "n/a" on those mccreary g60's so they will hook. i ran 15-17psi in them.

They are gt40 irons, mild port and polish. that is what I thought that the cam was too much, what do you reccomend? Are you running that pro launch kit on that web site? I would also like to know what is done to your car to enable you to 12.88 without power adder. That is what I am going for. I will understand if it is a secret.

RSW has done his homework with suspension. He has the bigger valves in the stock heads abd I believe he's lightened it up a bit. Check out his launch in his avatar

stock untouched heads, cam and intake. the valve covers and intake have never been off my car.

i done my suspension before kevin started making those upper arms, so no, i dont have his control arms. but i used all his info in the articles at the top of the page to set up my car. i have adjustable uppers and solid lowers with lowering springs in rear 1/2 coil cut out, and moroso drag springs in front with 2 coils cut out.

It's a nitrous car.

He could be launching low enough to bog it. Especially with non-stock heads and cam. I took my car to the track one time with pony rims and about 1/4 tread left and the best 60ft I could do was a 2.1 bogging the **** out of the engine.

rsw007, have you noticed much difference in traction when adjusting pinion angle? I've tried from 0 to -4* and with no change in results. Next up for me is some adjustable front shocks I guess.

I guess my question is, is the f303 cam too much for a set of gt40 iron heads, stock bottom end, stock lifters, pushrods and rocker arms, with the pars listed above. Lamotta says that it is a blower cam, and the lobe seperation is wrong for a n/a car. No nitrous, launching about 5000 rpm's, any more and it blows the g60's away, any less it bogs , 20 psi both times. I ran a 2.0 60 ft time and the car went 14.2 at 98, and a 60 ft time of 2.1 and the car went 13.9 at 99. I am thinking of an e303. The uppers are stock, and the lowers are mega bit jr's, with a 3.55 gear, and aluminum drive shaft. The tires aren't spinning, it is hooking up better than it ever has with the g60's.
