64.5 headlights go off and on

I have a 64.5 coupe with generator. I've completely rewired the car. When I turn the headlights on, they stay on for about a minute and then go off. If I turn the switch off and then back on they come back on for about a minute. Any ideas? Also, all my parking lights work when I pull the switch to parking lights, but when I pull the switch all the way out the front parking lights go out. Is this the way they operate?

The Light switch has a built-in circuit breaker. It's likely getting weak. When you turn it off it is resetting.

You need a new switch. Did you replace the headlamps with halogen? They draw a little more power.

The park lamps are designed that way. it's normal.

tim is correct. my headlight switch was the problem. and then a little while after i fixed it, it happened again but they would constantly flash. ended up being my alternator dying because they couldnt power my halogen headlights and stereo. just another thought

Do not run halogen headlights off of the original switch and wiring. Wire in a relay that connects them to direct battery power and use the original switch and wiring to control the relay.
