Hi all,

I just completed a radiator conversion on my 65 GT Fastback from the old 16" style to a 24" Griffin Radiator with new 24" SuperKool AC Condenser. Rick Farr of OldAirProducts worked with me in getting everything I needed, and I have written up a DIY for anyone that wants to do this mod.

If you have any questions or comments let me know, but so far everything is working great and no more overheating problems.

If you want the DIY please PM me as I can't post a 2 MB DIY, and no pics as I only have 500K storage. Maybe the Admins can help me with this.

Thanks,

GearHeadPeter

I did a similar install to keep my 408w cool! Great Idea to post a DIY.

I did something similar a few years back. Grafting a '67 radiator support in, and then using the Griffin '68 Big block aluminum radiator. I used a '68 radiator shroud and fabricated it to hold two electric fans.
But I am using the '66 A/C condensor, as it doesn't block the flow all the way across. This gives me room for the P.S. cooler on the left side.
Very happy with the overall fit and finish.

I did the same as Runt and grafted the 67/68 radiator support on my 65'. Fun weekend project if you can weld, although it is not an exact fit so some craftiness is involved. At least the height and upper width between the aprons was the same. I then used a factory type 24" AC radiator with the fan shroud. Looks like it belongs there.

Necessity is the mother of invention, and we showed it was necessary, and so we did it. Great work.

Bigger Radiator in 65-66 Mustang

I think it is one of the best mods I have done. Here is a link to where you can find step by step instructions for the modification.

64-66 Mustang 24" Radiator Conversion DIY - Ford Muscle Forums : Ford Muscle Cars Tech Forum

I did not have relocate my battery and the DIY explains that.

Hope this helped.
