65-66 Lower Control Arm supposed to be THIS tight??

Installing my new LCAs today, and I tighten them down where they attach to the frame, and then they don't move at all. you can move them, but it's springy- the rubber bushing is the only movement happening.

I had to use a little persuasion getting them in there (rubber mallet). I used a little grease on everything. This can't be right. They are scott drake LCAs.

When you tighten down the LCAs, is it supposed to make it where the center metal sleeve in the LCA bushing won't move, and the rubber moves around it? Are these just not 'broken in' yet?

Every car I've replaced the lower arms on I've left the bolt loose until the suspension is fully assembled and loaded with the weight of the car. Roll it back and forth a few times to get ti to settle then tighen the bolt.

Another reason why rubber SUCKS as a suspension joint.
Roller parts make such a difference in the suspension of our classic Mustangs.

I know, right? I just put in roller perches and adjustable strut rods, and when I got to my new LCAs (which I made even cooler by 'box' welding them) I was like, "what's this crap?"

I might have to look into that kit that makes them into rollers...

suggest you follow tweet66's suggestion. If it is a street driven vehicle, by changing to metal/urethane type bushings, ride will be impacted
