My car is almost finished.
I need to make a decision on my exhaust system.
To better help you decide what would look/work best here is a description of the car................
65 Fastback, Eleanor 2 hood,350R front apron, Shelby side scoops and Budnik M5 wheels. Painted Urban grey w/reflex silver Le Mans stripes. I am running Long tube headers to a stainless Magnaflow X pipe system with magnaflow stainless mufflers.
The rear valance is already painted (Doh!) so it is to late to cut the valance and run the tailpies/tips thru the valance.
Would running the tail pipes out the back under the rear valance look okay?
What are my options?
Thanks,
Scott
p.s. I am not looking for loud and I don't want to smell exhaust fumes..

I too am faced with the same rear exhaust dilemma and I also have my valance already painted. Regardless, I think it still looks better to run the pipes out the rear valance after cutting some holes in it. A 3" or 3.25" rolled stainless tip thru the valance would look killer, IMO. You will also need to fab some trim rings to accent the holes you cut in the valance. Real similar to the oem GT look only more monster looking. Thats what I just decided to do. I thought about side exit in front or behind the tires but the place that is more seen on the car is the rear. Right now the car has turndowns after the mufflers...do not like the sound of them.

Iskwezm,
What would be the difference in noise levels and fumes..
(inside and outside the car)
with the tail pipes turned down just before the rear valance versus tail pipes exiting under and past the rear valance?
