65 Fastback exhaust Question

My car is almost finished.
I need to make a decision on my exhaust system.
To better help you decide what would look/work best here is a description of the car................
65 Fastback, Eleanor 2 hood,350R front apron, Shelby side scoops and Budnik M5 wheels. Painted Urban grey w/reflex silver Le Mans stripes. I am running Long tube headers to a stainless Magnaflow X pipe system with magnaflow stainless mufflers.
The rear valance is already painted (Doh!) so it is to late to cut the valance and run the tailpipes/tips thru the valance.
Would running the tail pipes out the back under the rear valance look okay?
What are my options?

p.s. I am not looking for loud and I don't want to smell exhaust fumes..

I think it would be cool to run them to the valance and the put a turn down so you dont see them.

That is one option I am considering.
Questions:
Would this be louder than straight tail pipes exiting under the rear valance?
Would I pick up any exhaust fumes?
Would this routing over time discolor the rear valance?

The exit point is a matter of personnel choice. Why don't you buy a reproduction valance and cut and paint that one?

I really do not want to try and match the existing paint and the stripes.
The paint work came out very nice.
So at this point cutting the rear valance or painting another one to match are not options I am considering.
I am just wondering how it will look with the tips exiting straight out underneath the rear valance?
It has been suggested that I consider turning down the tips just before the rear valance. My concern with this option is added interior noise levels and fumes..
Thoughts?

I noticed when i got rid of my tailpipes and put dumps it got louder and I got fumes.You shouldnt have any problems with fumes,sound or discoloration.

Forgive me I am a little slow at times...
When people use the term "dumps" does that refer to exhaust pipes that are terminated just over the rear axle?
So are you saying that if I terminate my tailpipes just before the rear valance and point them downward it will not create any more interior noise or fumes than if I ran the tail pipes straight out the back?

The typical factory arrangement had the pipes turn down at the valance. You will not notice any difference if they do that, or go out through the valance from inside the car. If you have a nice original valance, I would think several times before cutting holes through it.

Thanks for all the replies..
I have decided to run the exhaust to the rear valance and then use a turn down.
The exhaust should be barely visible from the rear of the car.
As a side note the Magnaflow system I purchased provides the necessary
parts/hardware to accommadate several different exhaust routing options.
Very nice feature

I am running the same Magnaflow system on my 66 with the turn downs right before the rear valance-

from the back I can not see my exhaust tips and I have had no problem to date- (been on for about 10 months)
with fumes inside the car or discoloration-
