66 convertible weatherstripping trim piece

Hi all,
I'm working on putting a new convertible top on and I'm missing a metal piece the screws in under the front bow. Looking at other verts, it looks like this piece is used to keep the weatherstripping in place. I found the diagram below and the the part number appears to be 51358 (on the left side of the pict right below the front bow weather stripping.

Does anyone know where I can find this part? Or, if I have to make one myself, what type of material can I use and what thickness?

When I went looking for one there was no reproduction available. I bought a junk top at a swap meet to get it, along with some other parts.

It is quite thin with a little bit of flex. I think it is made of steel, but I'll need to take another look when I get home.
