66 mustang with 68 8 inch rear end

I had a '65 years ago that someone had previously equipped with a '67-68 eight-inch and it was not a good fit all. The stock tires will rub on the fenders if you don't change wheel offset to compensate.

Whats ironic is that now I have the exact opposite: a 1957(narrow 65-66 width) nine-inch rear end under my wider '68. The wheels are tucked a bit more, but there are no clearance problems.

conversion

i converted from the 6 cylinder 4 lug rear end to a 5 lug. so happened i got a deal on this particular rear end.. the backspacing is not a problem for me. i am actually putting on a set of 05 gt mustang rims so the wider axle is better for me being as i am still using a 1/4 spacer plate for offset in the rear. and there is no tire rub on the fenders either with 245 45 17's.

i will stick with the later model leaf spring brackets then. thanks for the help.
