I know this has probably been covered before but I couldn't find anything. I tried asking in the power adder dept but no help. Basically I have a longblock 347 built by Coast High Performance for blower use. Low compression, forged everything and a blower grind roller valvetrain - I'll spare you the details. I'm looking to run a Blower Shop 671 with a 8.5" snout and am 90% assembled except for the crank pulley. I don't want to run a blower hub and have had no luck finding an adapter to go from (28oz imbalance) Ford balancer 3-4 bolt pattern to the universal blower 6-bolt pulley. Does anyone know how to make this work (with 2 v-grooves)? My aftermarket search has come up with nothing. Any info on this would be great!

I ran a steel crank hub. Blowerdriveservice is who supplied my kit.

Very easy to have it balanced to whatever, mine was a custom balance.

You can have BDS custom make whatever you need, I was going to do a fluiddampner but he actually talked me outta it after I found out all the reasons for NOT using one. You might wanna rethink your position on the matter and give Craig a call at BDS.

I appreciate you guys helping me out. It's a sportsman block with a DSS main girdle. When I spoke with BDS before the guy couldn't even tell me if it (the small ford hub)was 50oz or 28oz - must've gotten the wrong guy. I was then told that I would need to disassemble the longblock and have the crank balanced with the flex plate and hub - so I figured a balancer with adapter would be easier. I'll check out BDS again and ask for Craig. Also, blown65, what distributer and cap did you go with. I have about 5.75" of clearance between the block and the blower? If not MSD, is it compatable?

Mallory is the only distributor that I know of that fits. You need the crab style cap one.

I know our machine shop can match balance balancers, so you can always get the balancer from them and have it changed, but as I recall the one they sell is a 28oz balance. Those kits are made for the older stangs and they all had the 28oz balance if I recal correctly.

You will get an accurate answer from Craig, its sometimes hard to get in touch with him though but I think its the right way to do it.

Good luck.
