I got the doors on, the rear fiberglass on ,the front fenders on and the nose section just setting in place .Things never go back the way you had it. For some reason the pass side door hinge would not line up to the door and it was still bolted in place when i removed the doors a little adjusting and it fit . I need to slide the fenders back about 1/16 inch ,got a wide door to fender gap . The trunk lid and end caps went right back where they were and so did the tail panel. The nose section is almost a perfect fit on the pass. fender .One of the studs on the driver side needs to be bent just a little so the point will go up ,about 1/16 inch , it fits very well now but not as good as my beat up old original fenders did .A little sanding on the mounting surface to tighten up the gap and it will be perfect . I need to sand blast my hood hinges because i forgot to do them when i did the suspension parts and bolt them on and i can bolt on the hood .Won't be a lot of body work but i want everything bolted in place when i do it . The worst part is the rockers on both sides ,someone dented in all the poprivet holes that mounted the rocker molding

Hood hinges sandblasted and primed along with the latch assembly, i bolted the hood on .
The front fenders are going to need the headlight mounting holes slotted slightly to get the nose section to slide to the points on the fenders .
Fenders just are not as good as the originals . It is going to fit well after a bit of alignment .

I sand blasted the inside frame rails and all the edges and primed them. Then i did the toe board . I test fit the floor and marked every spot where it would be welded ,removed it and drilled all the holes for plug welding. I put the floor back in place ...all by my self . Then i drilled the holes in the seat platform for plug welding and sat it in place .I drilled through the floor using the holes i drilled earlier in the seat platform ,and using a floor jack i then placed the under floor boxes where they would go, that way i could weld the seat platform ,the floor, and the under boxes at the same time. I also bolted in the brace between the two boxes ,before i welded ,to make sure every thing lined up. Using a few sheet metal screws i screwed the pieces together sandwitching all three tightly together and welded it up . i still have a little welding underside but i will wait until it is on the rotisserie . I put in the driver wheel tub and trunk drop off yesterday so no i am ready for the rear seat devider ,after i trim it out .

How is your conversion coming. I just picked one up and need some advice on how to finish. 52 yr old man who owned since 76. Daily driver till 2010. Have convertible sissor top, new top cloth, new rear window and boot. I have no trim (hockey sticks and rear deck center trim.

The side scoops only took a few minutes , i need to fine tune them a little bit by sanding where they rest against the body but they look great right now.
I put the back seat in just to make sure every thing fit and it does .
i used the top from my 68 convert ,just had to see what it is going to look like , i am almost ready to take it out for a test spin. Now i have to break it all down and bolt it on the rotisserie.

Argh, you go from pic of back seat in, to top on...I'm trying to figure out how to mount the convertible hardware under the top and behind the seat. Tks

If you are talking about the top bows ,they slip in between the side of the rear seat and the quarter ,with the seat panels off . The ram is attached to the top bows and the whole assembly bolts in with two bolts on each side in the front of the metal bracket the panels attach to

The hockey sticks and stainless trim is available in reproduction at any Mustang parts dealer ,so are the tack strils for the back of the top material and back window . If yoy have never done a top before you may want a shop to do it ,there is quite a bit of fitting in that area

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I was on vacation and bought another one of these dang cars. (Black one in pic).

Here are some pics of the circumcised coupe. Lol. I don't even see the attachment point you showed. I fear it maybe another thing that the coupe did not come with. Do I have the correct seats? This 52 yr old man loved this mustang and I would like to finish it or find someone as passionate. Any advice on the project is helpful. Sites that do this same coupe to convertible conversion would certainly be helpful.

The problem is you have a coupe with the top chopped off ,there is no convertible parts there . I would look and see if they put in the convertible inner rockers ,seat box and under floor boxes . It would be dangerous to drive wirh out because there would be nothing to support the car with out it .
This can all be added but you will have to find the rain gutter around the body at the back seat from a wrecked convert because it is not sold new

There's no way I can complete such a project. I'm afraid I may just have a convertible with no coupe (cover) option. Anyone want it...? I will sell it at cost. Make me a good offer. All of the proper frame stiffening was done.
