Can someone tell me if this glovebox latch bezel is original ('68 Fastback) or PO fitted something from other car? I can't find this anywhere...

On my 68 it was just a round piece of trim on the hole for the button. No integrated handle. Not sure why you'd need to pull on it since gravity does a great job of opening the one on my current 67.

Ah, yeah, somebody stuck that on there. Looks a bit unsafe, as well, a minor fender-bender and a doctor will be removing that from your passenger's kneecap.

Thanks! After your replies I did some research and found out that it is a trunk handle from some Soviet station wagon of late 70s.

Ha! Didn't notice your location until this post. There should be a simple stainless ring around the hole where the button protrudes. How is it for getting Mustang parts where you are? And how the heck did a Mustang end up in Russia? Ford certainly didn't sell them there.

Well, the story of this car is unknown to me. I bought it at the end of 2005 from a guy who lived 1000 miles from my hose. But he was drunk every time I spoke to him. So all my attempts to get some history of the car were useless. I think it was brought to Soviet Union in late 80s or early 90s - its title states 1973 and about that time it was common practice to make cars younger on paper to save on customs duties. It had rear impact sometime and the body was bent at the door openings. Previous restoration attempts were very poor. Original engine and tranny were long gone. PO tried to fit some Soviet V6 but he never got very far. Interior is gone too. So what I bought was just a title and big chunk of rusted metal. But was happy anyway - current Russian customs laws make it impossible to imports old cars nowadays. Imported car have to comply with EURO 4 emission stadards. So today I estimate that there are less than a couple dozens of classic Stangs in whole Russia.
As far as part go I have to order everythink from the US. If it something small to be accepted by USPS than I order parts directly. If it is big or heavy or complex (like elictronics or gauges) than I have to use services of companies that supply auto parts for Russian shops. It is quite expencive but I am ready to pay the price for owning the dream

This guy in Britain had similar problems. The piece of wood visible under the rear of the car in the first photo is holding it up!

Mine was worse that that. Only roof, cowl, doors and taillight panel remain original, the rest was had to be replaced.

Unfortunately I don't speak German...
And when you do currency conversion it looks than I'll spend less if I order from the US.
But thanks anyway!
