Got myself an original 69 Mach 1 hood scoop off of Ebay (CJ style I think it's called). Can someone with a Mach 1 tell me the distance between the back edge of the scoop (where the turn sig lights are) and the back edge of the hood. I'd like to get the placement correct. Thanks a lot! Pic of the scoop attached

Almost all the way back.

I've got the first picture in real-size if you want to mesure it with a ruler

Is that scoop stock, or did you add it? It looks great, those pics are incredible. Another question, is yours functional? Thanks for the info.

It is a stock scoop, and I've made it functional. However, if it does me any good can be discussed. Only the first image is my car. I found the two other pictures on my harddrive. So you are seeing two different cars in those pictures.

This might help you out. It has the bolt hole placements for the mach1 style and shaker hood trim ring. Unfortunatly you have to blow it up so the scale on the picture comes out to the correct size, and you wont be able to read the dimensions. http://www.mustangmonthly.com/howto/30058/index1.html

Attached is a pdf file of basically the same thing but it should print out full size. It prints it out on about 6 pages and you have to tape them together. It has reference points so it isnt to hard to peice it together. Place it on the left-right centerline of your hood at the rear edge of the hood. It has the bolt holes for the scoop on there.

I looked into this cause I thought about doing a shaker conversion. I have a 69 coupe with the machone style scoop w/ the turn signals. I am not positive if it is factory or not but I am pretty sure it is, it is a real Ford scoop. I measure mine and the rear edge of the scoop is 7/16" from the rear edge of the hood.

I havnt actually layed this on top of my hood to see how close it was, but it looks promising.
