I've only done some of the simplest body work but need to replace a badly-repaired taillight panel on a '69 that I inherited last year. Looking at a couple of websites, I see that this is said to be one of the simpler body panel replacements but how much am I taking on here? Looked at a local restorer's panels and they seem to be a bit on the thin side, so who makes a decent gauge replacement?
Also, the brackets that hold the taillight housings in place---do these come with the panel or are they welded in separately? And finally, if I can find a spot welder, how much trouble am I facing or should I just farm this out to a body shop? Pros and cons, please!
