My '97 has been bone stock since the day I bought it new in October 96. I have changed the pads, rotors, the filters (all Ford parts), and the oil (Mobil1). I finally got tired of the trashed suspension and put a set of four Tockico shocks and Motorsport spings on her.
The ride is good and firm, not harsh and nowhere near as firm as my '67, but the initial turn-in is awesome. She sits a little lower, but that just took away from the 4X4 look. Now I am thinking I need some adjusters since there's a bit too much camber (I can "see" it) and they cannot adjust that without more parts.
Oh well, now only my 2004 FX4 is still stock.
