I'm having issues getting my new dashpad into place. Its much thicker than the old one, annd won't slide far enuf foreward to line up the mounting screws, ayone had experience with this??

Have you thought about replacing your windshield at the same time? That would make it a lot easier to get the the screws.:rlaugh: Seriously, make sure it's not hanging up on any brackets, and have a friend push on one side while you push on the other.

just went through the same thing on mine last week. you have to trim about 1/2"-3/4" off the front edge of teh pad where it butts against the windshield. you've got to be very brave to that let me tell ya. trim it from the bottom side of teh pad and try to keep the angles the same. trim a little at a time and keep checking the fit as you go.

trust me, it's scary as hell to cut on the pad but it's the only way to make it fit. i bought the cheap pad trying to save money, guessing you did too. i've heard the ford tooling pads aren't like this.

What'd you use to cut it?

I cut and cut and cut.... Pretty much all that is left is fibreglass backing and vinyl. I gave up, an original ford tooling one is on the way from the mustang shop. Its actually cheaper than the other one was, cause i got a smokin deal due to my grief.... sadly since i tried to hack mine into place, its not considered in returnable conition... ahh well, live and learn. Next time if some orininal replacement part doesn't drop into place i'll just return it.
