so ive decided to make my 70' stang, into a mach 1 clone. it currently has a 250 I6, with a 3 speed manual c-4. i want to swap it with a 351w v2, and keep the current tranny. my Q is, how would i come about swaping these engines? ive seen some webpages that show how, but on a 65-66 mustang. would the bellhousing of the I6 fit the v8?what do i have to change to accommodate the new v8? much thanks in advance.....-cheers

Here's a link to the FAQ. It's located in the classic talk forum. One of the links in the FAQ thread is about I6 to V8 engine swaps.

Hope it helps.

The information is mostly the same.

The I6 bell bolts right up to small block Ford V8s. The transmission internals should be upgraded to handle the increased power.
