70 mm tb, cobra intake, and different cam, Worth IT???

Ok i've been stock piling up some parts for my mustang and now i have a question that deals with my current combo options. My 91 LX has an all stock motor and i'm wondering if it is worth it for me to swap the stock intake and tb for the cobra intake and 70mm tb that i have, and then get a different cam to compliment the intake. I will also be installing a PI 9.5 inch stall converter that is rated for 3000 rpms but i don't know if it is too early for that yet. Any suggestions on the intake combo i'm thinking of? I'm also considering a set of ported and polished stock heads that some guy is selling on craigslist for $350 with frpp roller rockers. Would the heads be worth the buy to swap everything out all at once. I am limited to my combos for now due to being temporarily handicapped and not being able to work right now. F$%&*#@ rich girl on her cell phone left the road while i was riding my snowmobile and t-boned me right on my left leg! So i'm in a wheelchair for now. Anyway thanks for any info or opinions.

I would suggest saving for the heads. But we all know those can get expensive.

It will not hurt you to swap on the intake/TB though:)

Good Luck in getting better.

Switching to a Cobra is a great move! The 70mm TB is a bit much, a 65mm is perfect.
Getting the heads will compliment the intake and give you a good breathing machine!! The stock cam is good! I wouldn't change it.

The Converter will turn your car into a totally different beast!(I have a PI too) Though I suggest getting some gears to take full advantage on the converter!

Put he intake and t-body on. Pass on the heads buy 1.7 roller rockers instead of a cam. Put the stall in ASAP! Save for better heads and get a cam to match them. The 1.7s help even it out. Before you do any of this, go to the junkyard and get a 70mm massair. You don't have one in your sig. the 55mm stocker will kill a stock intake much less a cobra. That combo should have you pushing 12s with traction.

Will take more than that for 12s. My old aod car had stall, gears, shift kit, full exhaust, 1.7 rockers, cobra intake, 65mm tb, C&l meter, ud pulleys, k&n filter in factory box. High 14s is all it would do, though I have seen some with similiar parts do low 14s.

Since tight on money, I would save for some good heads. Also, it would help to have that lower ported some, depending on the heads, it would really waken it up compared to not being ported. 70mm wont be to much once you have your entire h/c/i complete.

Most guys I see with a street aod and wanting to go fast are using a 3500 stall, but be sure its a good convertor. Check out clickclickracing for some good aod tech, they know aods.

Sounds to me like you need suspension and a DRIVER mod! My brothers 93 lx with stock ported intake,70mm t-body,70mm jyard mass,1.7rr,k&n filter, Same shift kit as OP with 4.10s. 4 banger springs, stock control arms, stock converter and bone stock untouched heads. Went 13.28 @103mph with a 2.0 sixty ft. A PI converter is good for 4 tenths, you do the math.

Thanks for the great info so far. It sucks not being able to work right now but i'm just tryin to do some research so i can get the mustang out with some extra kick this spring. I like the idea of the 1.7 rockers instead of a cam for now. A lot easier! I should have pretty good traction with the car now i have m/t drag radials, with skinnies up front on weld draglites, and i'm thinkin of gettin the eibach or laurel mountain drag launch kit before spring. I already ran a 14.8 @ 94 with the car and that was before my 3.73's and other axle stuff. Hopefully it will be close to the 13's if i do all the other stuff. As far as the converter goes, i have been told a 3000 rpm stall may be too much for my car right now but i'm thinkin it will stall anywhere from 2800-3200 so i should be ok. It is good to know you guys think the stall is a good idea. Thanks!

Oh yea i'm also lookin at a bigger mas air flow sensor. Probably a 76mm piece. I forgot to mention that i have 24lb injectors too. Would it make sense to put them on if i switch the intake or should i wait until i get heads and a cam? Thanks!
