700hp would make a beast any semi-light car but NOT for nose heavy 4000lbs pig. On the prepped track with some slicks it will probably get in high 10's and 125 mph. But who cares? On the regular street 700hp would make no better than 500hp. And that "700hp car" would probably get beaten by 190 hp Elise on the way home at a short stop light.
People are impressed by HP numbers, but they forget other specs.
I have an advice for Ford and Shelby: Build a super big, super heavy 6,000 lbs tank-like mustang, drop in a big 750hp engine and call it the most affordable super-car. And you'd be surprised how many stupid buyers would pay over MSRP just to get one.
And in the end it would be no faster than 03-04 cobra.
