70mm TB finally arrived!

hey, I got everytinhg hooked up, but i cannot find the green wire they are talking about on that site, any help?

Heres what I think about this TB:
Pros: Cheap, Looks good, Works
Cons: Had to drill out 2 of the 4 bolts for it to line up with my intake manifold, Kinda stuck at first when no throttle was applied
If I had the money I would have gone witha a BBK or whatever but for this price I approve of the PP. It took me like 40 min longer then it whould have because it did not fit but oh well.

May be people had them stick because they didn't straighten out that rat nest of wiring all around the TB and it got hung up on that schwag!

I had the same thing happen to me. I had to drill the holes bigger because it wouldn't line up to my intake manifold. It also did not bring the lower metal part for the TPS to go on, and it sticks

I bet my $$ that the guys who had them stick knew what they were doing...I doubt that was the reason....IT's the TB!

Yeah, I was an internet racer back then and didnt know any better I NEED a 75mm accufab, but right now I gotta finish buying the rest of the parts for my tremec tko install. Tranny just came but I need all the other crap too. Im doing it RIGHT the first time and replacing near everything. After that, I will do the much needed 75mm tb and I might do spray again.

What kind of nitrous system do you have? Nitrous cars it seems are torque monsters. And less prone to overheating.

I am kind of thinking about eventually putting in a 50 or 75 shot instead of bringing the boost up. Thats a long way off though...

I heard people had some problems with the bbk like a wistle and a it stuck sometimes. How are the edelbrock tb's, they do cost more but might be worth it.

The eldelbrocks and the bbks are like the exact same T-body.

edelbrock owns BBK. they whistle because of that new found air rushing in. mine has never stuck open.

First I had a nitrous works wet kit and blew a head gasket on an 80 shot. The car was lean and I didnt know. The lean problem started with the FTI cam which I never should have got anyway. But anyway, I sold that kit and then maybe a year or less later I bought an NOS 5115 dry kit from my friend for cheap (cash and trade). I ran a 100 shot with that. That too was ungodly lean (18:1 on the dyno ) I sold that about 2 months ago due to needing money because I wasn't working. I gave him a killer deal on it. Now after I get my tremec tko done, I might look for another nos 5115 dry kit and a 75mm TB. All the nitrous wires are still in my car so install should be simple. I thought about looking for a used supercharger, seems I could get something nice for like $1500. But $1500 + injectors and maf vs a $350 n2o kit on a car that rarely gets driven. I have other things I need to buy before a supercharger like new front tires and an alignment. I stil lgotta order the rest of the junk to go along with my tko install. Im doing this right changing things most people wouldnt like a blowproof bell, exnended fork, pilot bearing and a pa perf starter (my current one has a hot spot and needs to be banged if it hits that spot or it wont start)

For the record, on a 100 shot my car made 340hp/430tq with an 18:1 a/f across the board. Thats shoulda been at least 375hp/475tq with some fuel.

Have you heard any thing about the nitrous kit that came out that fits TFS intakes? From what Ive heard they are wet systems that hook right into the intake. Is this true or just rumors? I gotta go to friggin work right now ,otherwise I would elaborate...

They are wet plate systems that go in between the U/L intake. They are made by NX. It should be a killer nitrous system.

you can find them at www.trickflow.com and just google the part number.. i think summit has them now but not in the magazine.

i have a PP 70mm t/b ... and the egr spacer
i hope to god. that it fits ok.. and it does not stick
but just to be sure

what are a few of the remedies to fix the sticking problem?
i heard new spring, or something of that nature? where can i get a spring that would fix this..
or sanding the blade down slightly?

i hope to get one of those tf wet kits someday

edit: i might ebay these both if i have to and go edelbrock or something

Those kits look real nice. I didn't see a price though... you guys know how much they are?

I don't know how to stop the sticking on those t.b.'s. But there is a little info. earlier in this thread.

BTW (Grn92LX) : I just read that part about 18:1...holy crap. I hit 14:1 at one point on the first run on the dyno , but I'm lucky not to have blown a head gasket. Also, why are you runnung a dry kit as opposed to a wet. I am definitely lacking knowledge in the nitrous dept.

I'm not running any nitrous now, I sold it. I got the dry kit from a friend for a really really good deal. I liked the ease of installation better than the wet kit and for what I wanted, it was fine. Yeah, my a/f was 18:1 across with NO sign of dropping. I can only imagine the power it would have made if it had some fuel.
