75mm mass air flow meter installed,,wont idle?

What is Cobra eec? I have the 24lb injectors, fuel pressure set at 38 and timming at 12.5 degrees. No pings, runs great wide open but sux at cruising. Lots of jerking and bucking. It sometime idles fine and sometimes surges. Do you think if I go to a 75mm 24lbs mass air it will cure the problem? Currently have 75mm w/19lbs mass air. Was told car has cobra mass air conversion. Set up worked fine until I changes the intake and heads

You need to have a 24# meter with 24# injectors. A Cobra maf is a 19# maf and it will not work with 24# injs unless you have the cobra eec..I already went thru this with the FMS tech line and they told me if I want 24# injs I should Buy a Pro m. MAF

For those who are saying PRO M is Junk I think maybe either someone lied to you about the calibration or something because Pro M is about the Best.

Be Nice Jason it wasnt to long ago you were asking many questions and getting help. This is how we learn. Its better to ask and learn from people who know than to play guessing games and learn the hard way. :nice:

Hey thanks for this help, one more ques. if its to lean, can it be adjusted with this gauge,or do I need a bigger fuel pump?

The Guage is just to read the fuel pressure. The AFPR is to adjust the fuel pressure,<----2 differnt items here..........Your stock pump is fine for now.

when you say cruising, do you mean by putting it on cruise control? i have the same problem, i would think it has to do with a vacume leak because that is what the cruise controls are run off of. if that has a vacume leak it could cause the problem.

The 1993 Cobra Had its own Computer, The motor used 24# injectors and it had a 70mm MAF unit (I think its 70) Anyhow the MAF is actually calibrated for 19# and the COMPUTER (eec) is programed to make up for the differnce in the injectors. If they didnt use the cobra puter thats probably the problem. If you having low rpm issues check out the links I posted at first and try them out, I know its simple stuff but it may just help.

ok willy... your close... im 17 years old, and i seem to know much more about stangs than you do... that was an uncalled for flame. i simply misunderstood what he was talking about. i suggest you watch your own maturity level before you go around accusing others of being a dumb kid.

Does a stock 93 5.0 have a regulater?

Yes it has a Regulater but not adjustable I posted before its next to the EGR valve on the fuel rail. Its possible someone could have already installed a AFPR if you havent owned the car since new.

Play nice kids...... :notnice:

Its all good. Jason is just playing around he lives down the street from me Ill tend to him later!! LOL

since when did i "bust your balls"... read previous posts and see i gave you all good legit information. i am not here to flame on you, im here to help you, but the second you disrespected a person that was trying to help you, you messed up.

enough with the flame wars, i call it truths. agian, suggested - AFPR, kirban is good, fuel pressure gauge, no particular brand... this is a very important modification to a modified stang, and if you plan on doing any other upgrades this will help you out. Its good to have a good foundation to build on.
