8.8 Seals?

After various popping I related to driveline I found the diff was nearly empty of gear oil. The oil is not leaking from the pinion or the ends of the housing tube but rather where the tube meets the diff. There's no inner seals right? Why would it leak from there?

No seals where the tube meets the center.
pressed fit, iirc.

Sure its not coming out the vent and flowing down the tube?

It has to go somewhere. The vent is a likely culprit for some, but doubtful for all unless you do a LOT of auto x etc.

Only seals are the pinion, each axle tube/wheel bearing (outer) and the rear cover.
