8 inch rear opinions

I was having the same thoughts as you so I called Currie Enterprises...Anaheim, CA. The tech I talked to told me to buy a TRUE-TRAC Posi and send him my Third Member, they would re-work it slap in the gear ratio of my choice and send the third member and a set of their beefy axles back to me for 900ish. He also told me that a properly built 8" will handle up to 400 h.p. on the street. that's curries 2 cents.

I would have no problem believing that. 400 isnt that much h.p. also, an 8.8 some would argue is just as strong as a 9", but im sure its not as strong a fully built 9" with all the goodies. but you can beef up an 8.8 too.
