81 and 89 interchangeable.

I currently own an 89 GT. I know a guy who MUST have his 81 out of the yard by the end of the month or its gone. He's getting ride of it cheap. The body is decent, but it doesn't run. It has T-tops. Other than that I don't know much about it. Was just kind of curious if the doors, interior, and front fenders where in good enough shape to but would they be interchangeable with my 89. Thanks in advance for your reply.

the doors off the 81 t-top willnot fit anything except another t-top car, they have no upper strap. Everything else should interchange.

Most of the body parts will fit between the cars.

The doors will not fit: You will need to find a convertible or T-top car (ones without the window channel)

The interior should be similar and should bolt up without too much issue. The dash is different.

personally, the early four eyed cars are badass, and nearly everyone will support me of that. I'd restore the original interior. swap the fenders, that's ok, but the mouldings are different. Keep the foureyed bumper. ttop's own!!! swap in your 89 drivetrain, and you're ready to go.
