84 ranger

I bought an 84 ranger 2.3fuel injected w/ a 5 speed for 150 bucks everything works but the shifter was broke( about 150 bucks from the dealership). How hard would it be to put my 2.3 turbo motor in this thing it looks like it would be an interesting ride if i could get it to work fairly easy. Its white with blue interior single cab no rust and the motor thats in it has 178,000 miles on it i just gave it a tune up and it runs like a top. My dad wants to put a 302 in it but i want to put my motor in it so let me know how hard it is if anyone knows. thanks

I think eather motor would be good me ive got an 85 ranger with a v6 and ive done a couple of things that i think make the truck look pretty good custom grill and seats out of (please don't kill me) a 97or so camaro. Im about to paint it and put in a new v6 that i just got. Im hopping to put in a 302 or a 351 in a couple of years maby eaven possibaly a big block. From what ive herd putting in a 5.0 is pretty easy.

go turbo! then go dust some S10's, and give em' a real suprise. it would be 10x easier and cheaper than i v8 swap. probably easier than a mustang.

easier than a mustang? that would be nice is this actally true what type of gears would this thing have anybody know?
