I have an 85' coupe with rare throttle body e.f.i....yes, it's an automatic. This car has 120k miles and runs like crap. It is all original and in great shape.

Now for the problem. At cruising speed or rpm it smokes terribly and misses like it is getting way to much fuel. If you floor it it will clean up at high rpm's.
I have done a complete tune up. Fuel pressure is at 35 constant and I have no clue as what to look at next.

I know most of you would say swap a carb set up but the car is a really nice original piece.

Could it need a computer and where would you get one or what else could it be? PLEASE HELP. thanks, Mark 615-477-8411 I will gladly call you back to pay for call.

Are the injectors side feed or top feed? If it's side fed then you may have too much FP. Side fed CFI injectors are only supposed to get 14psi like a carb.

If they are top fed the 35psi is correct.

Not sure how the management systems work on CFI cars, but first suspect would be the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor & the MAP/BAP sensor.
