Hey guys. I have some of the 85-86 "GT" moldings laying around and i want to instlal them on my '91 and paint it black to match and then fill in the"GT" with either white or red. I think it would look just sweet...But i have a few problems.

First the molding on the 85-86 look skinnyer.. Like then they wouldn't sit fluch with my existing moldings on my car. Is there a way i could "fattin" them up?

And what was removed on the back of these moldings?

Then your saying yeah but the moldings won't match up... YOu just fill in the little moldings line so it has no lines...

Any help would be great guys.

If it were me, I'd sell the 85-86 moldings and get the right ones for your car. Nobody makes the 85-86 moldings and they are getting tougher to come by. 5ohResto and few other folks carry the newer moldings and you shouldn't have much trouble selling your old ones for at least the cost of the ones you need.

I'm sure that it would with some trimming. Just lay it all out first and do the trim on cardboard first. I've found that a permanent marker and random orbital sander does a great job at shaping that stuff.
