My buddy is working on a late 84/85 GT. We are thinking about removing all the crappy TBI stuff, and throwing a 600 holley on it. It seems like a pretty straight forward swap, is there anything odd about the ignition in the car, or other computer related challenges?
To convert it? Jus pulled the upper and lower intake and everythng else FI realated, put an edelbroke carb and intake on it and bought a throttle cable linkage/kick down cable and hooked it all up. I put a cam, timing chain, new lifters/rockers, billet distributor, exhaust and electric fan on it in the process...runs like night and day!
Did your car have a TFI Distributor? He isn't going to change the cam in it, just clean up/out the ugly 85 wiring/vacuum hose mess. I just wanted to double check there isn't going to be a no start condition, from deleting the electric crap...
