86 front spindles.... Are they different

86 front spindles.... Are they different....


Will they stick the wheel out further in the wheel well then a 87 spindle...

Don't know...but i'm thinking they are basicly 87+ 4cyl spindles?

I don't know about the wheel sticking out further but they are different. To use them on a later car you have to use the spindle assembly with the 86(spindles, rotors, struts). There is like a 1/4 inch difference on the spindle where the strut mounts, the rotors are bigger on 87+ and bearings are also different.

I found all this out when I tried to 90 struts on a 86.

They are different than the 87-93 spindles. But I don't think they stick the wheel out further cause all 79-93 wheels had 4.25" backspacing.

Yes, they are.

No differences in offsets, but you will not be able to mount a 11" rotor on it. Only the 10" rotor will fit

Bill was more woried about the offset, just making sure they would not stick the front wheels any further out. He runs Aerospace drag brakes so they are no problem.

With those 3 ft wheel stands he doesn't want to have to worry about smacking the fender when he comes down.
