86 Gt Engine Harness?

I am presently putting my 86 back together after sitting for 5 years at freinds place. The eng harness Has been chewed by mice ect and I am having a problem finding a new one. Will a 87 harness work for this year since they both were pre MAF? I know the bodies changed and some diff eng mods were made to the 87. I presently have a updated computer and MAF installed. I have a blown 351 setting in the eng bay and it runs but Im worried about the wiring. Any advise would be great! thanks.

I have an '86 GT myself and i bought it without the wiring harnesses. I had to track them down on local message boards/ebay/etc. I contacted Ford because i wanted to know the same thing that you asked. I could easily find a '87+ harness but i couldn't find an '86 harness, and it doesn't help that it is a one year deal either. They told me a few things were different and the plug ins as well. I ended up figuring out that i either need the FMS harness with the mass air conversion in it or the specific '86 GT harness. I ended up finding a '86 GT harness and bought the FMS MAF conversion kit that is now discontiuned. I suggest doing the same. Good luck!
