I have an 86 GT that has been sitting for 5 years.
It was inspected and working perfectly 5 years ago. It has been stored in an indoor garage with the temperature between about 45* and 75* year round.
I bought a new battery for it and the starter works but it will not start.
The gas gage showed the tank as being dead empty so I added a gallon of fresh gas and it still shows the tank as dead empty and still will not start. Maybe the engine has to be running to show how much fuel it has in it.
I just wanted to see if there was anything that I could do on my own to try to get my car back running or if this is something that is best left to a professional mechanic?
Thanks
Jim
