'86 Rearend question

That is a steal for 100 bucks. I sold my last one for 450+tax ay my JY. I would put a bearing and seal kit in it before install, to ensure quiet operation.

Does anyone know what 205F means on an 86 5.0 axle tag?

Hate to break it to you, but the axle code for a Trac-lok rear is 3L08.

The L is the letter which indicated the limited slip differential.

I don't know what P refers to. What did this rear end come out of?


It's a limited slip differential, not a spool or locker. Posi is a GM term, so ford wouldn't use it on theirs. Their name for it is "Traction-lok"

I can't find use of a "P" in any of my Ford shop manuals. M, Z, Y, etc., no P. imp
