87-93 Economy Headlight Kit

I am thinking about getting one of these kits, and was wondering if anyboby has any experience with them? Also any picture of clear sidemarkers would help.

My experience with the " Economy " type is that the headlight adjusting screws are not all the way finish,you might just have a post with no screw thread ( Have to use a plier to turned it ). And remember nothing else will comes with it ( Rubber seal around headlight,the spacer behind the headlight,clips to hold the headlight to the spacer ). Find that out after I throw everything away,it is expensive and time wasting to hunt down replacement parts again.

The rest seems to fitted wll enough to pass.

Mustang Parts & Accessories at 50resto sells that set for 100 and that is what I got but they were about 130 when I got them. They work great and they are really cheap compared to most car's headlamps. It's a real facelift on a car, and helps lighting a whole lot.

Did you get the clear or amber ones and how did they install for you? Did you need any parts?

I got the clears, and they install just like originals and are equal if not better quality. Companies like depo and tyc make lights for the manufacturers anyways. Although I do not know who exactly makes these, they are in fact OE, the only thing is they don't have FORD stamped on them and sold through Ford so the markup is not there.

That would help greatly,just swap over the parts to the new headlights.

Here is a cheaper meathod and can really work. You can sand down your headlamps and then clearcoat them for really cheap. Some perfer to sand with a fine sandpaper and pollish the plastic down with a buffer and a plastic pollish such as Mequires plastix. You must sand them down until all the brown is gone, it will look frosted, kind of looks cool to be honest but it won't stay like that, so you need to then treat it, clearcoat works great. Then you can buff it down from there but it really isn't nessasary.

you really don't need a fancy kit though.

If you are looking to replace your old foggy ones I got the economy ones years ago and was very satisfied with them, they looked fantastic, now like 4 or 5 years later they look like crap. If you are looking for a better look the diamond clears look fantastic but honestly I'd be a little scared to spend the money to have them fog up in a 4 or 5 years.

no matter what u do they lights will fog up and turn yellow..especially if its in the elements and not garaged all the time

I bought a clear set about 5 years ago, they looked great and gave great visibility at night. But after 2 years they turned yellowish. :S Then I bought a set of diamond ones, and they're still rocking like new!

I bought the economy kit, but have not installed them. I purchased an AutoZone renew kit. Did not work at first, but found a trick. Used the pad until the whitish surface is gone, then dripped a bit of water on it, continued polishing. It would actually squeal once it smoothed out. Then I let it dry and used some auto body polishing wax. Seem to look good, didn’t cost much and they remain factory.
