has anyone used the comp cams intake the box looking one advertises 20hp gain on a stock 5.0 also looking into ecm chips for it are the speed density cars able to be modified i had a bad experence with a gm speed density tpi hope fords are diffrent

I would just convert to MAF. Pretty inexpensive. But, if you are committed to the SD then the only thing I would worry about is having to get a new tune everytime you mod the car.


Also, SD is fairly versatile as long as you aren't changing the cam around. But I am not sure about that intake with SD. I have heard people have luck with changing heads and intakes without the SD going crazy on them. Good luck either way.

Box intake has no place on a stock motor. You will lose all bottom end.

If an intake is the only mod your doing go down the lines of a trick flow street, edelbrock performer, gt40, or cobra. A box style intake is overkill and will only hurt performance on a stock motor, especially with stock heads.

The comp cams box is a plastic POS put one on my lil bros car it leaked could not get it to seal worped I guess glued it on and the car lost all its torque tool it right back off as far a SD swap it to maf the car will thank you for it

thanks for the input mines a auto car daily driver lookn for more torque really summer plans are 4.10s non lock up 2200 converter long tubes x pipe and 24lbs injectors dont want to get to deep into it yet

I don't.see any need for 24lbs injecters with those mods your fine with the stock 19lbs till you do heads cam and intake just headers and gears stock injecters will work great food luck with the car
